Halloween in Paris with the Family: Our Ideas for the All Saints’ Holidays

Pumpkins, friendly monsters, creative workshops and spectacular decorations: as October 31 approaches, Paris gets into the Halloween spirit. And since the celebration falls right in the middle of the All Saints’ school holidays, it is the perfect opportunity to plan a few days in the French capital with the children.

For complete freedom during your stay, Maison La Bohème offers an ideal base in the heart of Montmartre. Located at 1 Rue Saint-Rustique, facing the Sacré-Cœur, its serviced studios and apartments offer all the privacy and comfort of a home away from home after a busy day exploring Paris. Some apartments can accommodate 4, 6 and up to 8 guests, making them particularly suitable for families.

So, what can you do in Paris for Halloween 2026 with the family? Here are some ideas to turn the All Saints’ holidays into a memorable Parisian getaway.

Halloween Begins in Montmartre

Before heading to the major Halloween events taking place across Paris, take some time to enjoy the neighbourhood.

In autumn, Montmartre has a very special atmosphere. The days grow shorter, café lights come on earlier, and the cobbled streets around the Sacré-Cœur gradually take on a different character as night falls.

From Maison La Bohème, there is no need to immediately jump on the Metro. Simply begin with a walk around Place du Tertre, wander through the narrow streets of the hill and return to the Sacré-Cœur as the lights of Paris begin to sparkle below.

For children, Halloween can also be an opportunity to see Montmartre from a different perspective: spotting unusual houses, discovering hidden stairways, watching the artists of Place du Tertre or choosing a few treats to organise their own Halloween snack back at the apartment.

This is where the advantages of Maison La Bohème truly come into their own: all apartments feature an equipped kitchen, allowing families to maintain their usual routines, prepare a meal or simply enjoy a quieter evening after a busy day of sightseeing.

On October 31, Halloween Comes to the 18th Arrondissement

For families wishing to celebrate Halloween without having to cross the whole of Paris, a special family programme is planned right here in the 18th arrondissement.

On Saturday, October 31, 2026, the Maurice Genevoix Library will host its Great Halloween Day from 10:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Creative workshops, readings, games, a treasure hunt, films, storytelling and even a haunted-house escape game will take place throughout the day. The event is free, although advance booking is required for several activities.

Younger children have not been forgotten. In the morning, children aged 3 to 6 can take part in a Little Wizards’ Treasure Hunt: a witch has lost the ingredients for her potion, and the children must find them hidden around the library.

For older children, the programme evolves throughout the day, with a Ciné’lloween screening for ages 7 to 15 and an escape game for teenagers aged 12 and over.

It is an easy way to turn Halloween into a genuine family event while remaining in the same arrondissement as Maison La Bohème.

A Colourful Día de los Muertos at the Jardin d’Acclimatation

For something different from traditional pumpkins and haunted houses, head to the Jardin d’Acclimatation.

From October 3 to November 1, 2026, the park will celebrate Día de los Muertos, the famous Mexican Day of the Dead. Far from an exclusively spooky Halloween experience, the event focuses on colour, music and celebration.

Calaveras, cempasúchil flowers and Mexican music transform the paths of the Jardin d’Acclimatation. An all-female mariachi band also adds to the immersive atmosphere, while children and adults alike can discover the colourful visual world of this Mexican tradition.

During the school holidays, from October 17 to November 1, the programme will also feature a 30-minute magic show at the Théâtre Rouge.

It is a particularly appealing option for a family day out: enjoy the park’s attractions while discovering a different interpretation of Halloween, one that is brighter, more colourful and festive.

Halloween Activities for Younger Children

Travelling with young children sometimes means finding activities specifically adapted to their age.

During the All Saints’ holidays, from October 17 to November 1, 2026, Bulles & Billes in the 9th arrondissement will offer a special Halloween programme designed for children up to the age of 11.

Creative workshops, potion-making, puppet shows, face painting, games and sweet hunts will be organised on different days. Children from the age of 2 can even take part in a treasure hunt to find treats hidden throughout the different spaces.

It is an excellent option when the October weather in Paris makes an indoor activity particularly appealing.

A Magical Day at Disneyland Paris

For families wishing to devote an entire day to Halloween, it is difficult to overlook Disneyland Paris.

The Disney Halloween Festival will run from September 26 to November 1, 2026. Disneyland Park will be transformed for the occasion with special decorations, pumpkins, illuminations, Disney Villains and the return of Mickey’s Halloween Celebration.

October 31 will feature a special programme, with character encounters, additional entertainment and extended opening hours announced for the occasion. It is also the only day of the year when both children and adults can visit the park in costume, subject to Disneyland Paris’s costume guidelines.

From Paris, the excursion can easily fill an entire day before returning in the evening to the comfort and tranquillity of your apartment in Montmartre.

What If Halloween Were Simply an Excuse to Enjoy Paris?

There is no need to fill every day with Halloween-themed activities.

The All Saints’ holidays are also a wonderful opportunity to introduce children to Paris at a more relaxed pace.

From Maison La Bohème, a morning can begin at the Sacré-Cœur before walking down through Montmartre. Another day can be dedicated to the city’s major museums and monuments, or simply to a walk along the Seine.

And when the children start to get tired, returning to an apartment rather than a traditional hotel room can make a significant difference to the organisation of your stay.

Maison La Bohème offers 14 studios and apartments, ranging from intimate studios to spacious family apartments. The Renoir apartment, for example, can accommodate up to 8 guests, while several other apartments are designed for 4 or 6 people.

Families can therefore enjoy shared living spaces, an equipped kitchen and the assistance of a concierge service to help organise their stay.

Experience the All Saints’ Holidays from Montmartre

Choosing Montmartre for a family Halloween break ultimately means enjoying two experiences in one.

On the one hand, Paris offers a wide variety of activities during the school holidays: treasure hunts, workshops, shows, decorated theme parks and major Halloween celebrations.

On the other, Montmartre allows families to begin and end each day in one of the most iconic neighbourhoods in the French capital.

At Maison La Bohème, the Sacré-Cœur is literally at the end of the street. Once the day is over, simply return to your apartment, prepare dinner if you wish and start planning the next day’s adventures.

Halloween then becomes much more than a single evening on October 31.

It is the perfect excuse to treat the children to a few days in Paris, discover Montmartre in autumn and make the most of the All Saints’ holidays as a family.
